This gas mixing installation is the solution to save on ripening costs. The Ripe-Pro is an installation for producing ripening gas. It extracts nitrogen from fresh air and mixes it with pure ethylene out of gas bottles. This means that it is no longer necessary to use pre-mixed gas, yielding cost savings of no less than 70%.

Besseling installed two PSA nitrogen generators at an existing cocoa beans storage facility in the port of Amsterdam mid 2015. The installation is used for disinfestation of the beans at extreme low levels of oxygen. Main targets of the re-design were energy reduction and improvement of the treatment. Both targets were passed with flying colors.

In 1983 the first part of a large CA/ULO facility was build in Zwaagdijk-Oost, The Netherlands. The contractor was vegetable and fruit auction WFO (West Friesland Oost) and CO₂ adsorbers from their former cold stores were re-installed and replaced in 1987 with new Besseling ones.
